I agree with you. Currently I use a 3 prong attack. 1) Spybot, 2) Ad-Aware 3)McAfee Virus Scan. I would like to switch over to AVG but I am not sure how to do it. I have read a lot of posts that indicate gettting McAfee Security Suite COMPLETELY uninstalled is really a hassle. I feel like McAfee has me in a box because I really don’t have time to figure out how to completely remove it and I don’t want to install AVG and have a bunch of conflicts / problems / incomplete virus protection. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the info Mary. I’ve heard about viruses like you mention, and several of my friends have been duped into downloading them! That’s social engineering at its finest!

I’ve used AVG for about 4 years now, it’s a great tool along with spybot s/d and adaware…but, todays newest problem is a virus treating it’s self as an AVG anti-virus 2009 version. The trifectia virus..a real **** to get rid of…when I find a way to totally remove it from another computer I’ll tell you so you can pass on this info…I was an ISP/computer repair center. Would rather build machines than pick a virus off of it.
